Annual Book Drive: In Collaboration with AfricanLibraryProject.org-Charity and Community Service

Book Drive at SRVIC Feb 5 - Feb 14, 2021.

In collaboration with AfricanLibraryProject.org, we will be opening a library in rural Africa (Botswana). In this rural community, many of the kids do not have access to books. We need to collect 1000 books, and I will have them shipped to Africa to set up the library in Botswana.

I am asking each student to donate one gently used or a new book that they loved themselves. We would like to encourage the spirit of charitable giving and also the concept of gifting to others what they like for themselves. Inshallah, there is an important lesson for our young students to learn.

Please remember the recipients are not strong English speakers, so they prefer beginner to intermediate level English books that have no reference to slavery, US history or religion. Dictionaries and textbooks are welcomed and will be used by the local teachers.

There will be a BOOK DRIVE donation box in front of SRVIC near the Main Entrance from Jan 30 - Feb 14, 2021.
